On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Fukuoka Prefectural Government Office, Shinichi Hasegawa, President and CEO of WORKING HASEGAWA Co., Ltd., reported the 2025 Good Design Award win of “sukui,” the company’s sustainable medical wear brand, to Governor Seitaro Hattori of Fukuoka Prefecture.
He was joined by Hideki Shoda, President and CEO of chaintope Inc., which provides the blockchain technology used for the Digital Product Passport (DPP) system.
The award recognizes sukui for its thoughtful design that prioritizes usability and comfort in the highly public and demanding environment of medical workplaces, while also achieving a strong balance between environmental responsibility and refined aesthetics.
For the production and information management of this brand, WORKING HASEGAWA has implemented a blockchain-based Digital Product Passport (DPP) system, jointly developed and deployed in collaboration with chaintope Inc., ensuring transparent and reliable product traceability.

In this DPP system, Tapyrus Blockchain developed by chaintope Inc. is used as the core infrastructure.
Based on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the system visualizes not only CO₂ emissions and absorption but also a wide range of environmental information across the entire supply chain. This includes the sourcing regions and suppliers of raw materials, as well as energy consumption at each stage of the manufacturing process, all presented in an integrated and transparent manner.
The system supports three languages—Japanese, English, and Chinese— enabling the provision of highly transparent and reliable information to both domestic and international stakeholders.
This initiative represents the first case in Japan of DPP implementation in the medical wear sector, presenting a new benchmark for next-generation uniforms that contribute to the realization of a circular economy.
During the award report, an explanation was also given regarding the DPP system implemented in sukui and its broader impact.
Governor Hattori listened with great interest to the explanation of the system and its potential ripple effects.

Additionally, strong expectations were expressed regarding the future potential of sukui and the Digital Product Passport (DPP) implemented using blockchain technology.
